This ideograph combines the outline of an area with the verb to rise. The verb to rise in Indus script is equivalent to the Chinese character shān 彡. A raised area gives us the noun hill or mound. Mahadevan's sign number 1084 can also be an ideograph for a stack or pile of objects.
